Have a birthday
boy or girl with a special day right around
the bin? Here are a few of our favorite
money saving ideas for children’s birthday
parties that will help you stay on budget
without skimping on fun.
The Little Baker’s Bash
Who said birthday parties don’t come cheap?
Here’s a great party theme that will also
save you money on your child’s birthday
cake. Simply bake up a batch of cupcakes
and set them aside to cool a few hours before
the party. Taking several bowls, food coloring
and plain, vanilla icing, mix different
colors of icing into each bowl. Fill other
bowls with jellybeans, sprinkles and gummy
worms. Now each child has their own personalized
cupcake!
*Helpful Hint:
Keep little partiers in their space with
a few crayons and a few of our
educational Dora coloring pages.
Party Bags Made Easy
The best place to shop for party bags is
at a Dollar Store. You would be surprised
at what you can dig up there! From large
packs of army men to multi-packs of hair
bows, lip-gloss and jewelry – we think it
is the best place to come out not only on
budget but also under it. Save even more
money by opting for paper bags over pricey
character themed bags. Then, simply snazzy
up the bag with stickers, the child’s name
and whatever else your heart desires.
*Helpful Hint:
Don’t have the cash to dish out on party
bags? Buy a box of 100 count crayons, separate
them into five or six crayons each and place
them into sandwich bags. Then, print off
a few of our
educational Spongebob Squarepants coloring
pages and staple them together to create
a book. Wah-la! Instant party favors!
More Money Saving Tips
Really want to save that dough for a rainy
day? Plan your party around a season or
holiday close to your child’s birthday when
seasonal items are at their most abundant.
Save even more money by stocking up after
that holiday has passed and putting the
items away for future birthday parties.
